Founded by Dennis Madsen, retired President of REI, the Youth Outdoors Legacy Fund relies on donations from individuals and businesses. Administered by the Seattle Foundation, the fund makes the most of every dollar to help as many kids as possible experience the great outdoors.

YOLF does not accept unsolicited requests.  Annually, the Advisory Board prioritizes the urban communities of greatest need, and a sub-committee of the board in partnership with the staff at the Seattle Foundation identifies prospective grantees.  Those select grantees are then invited to submit a proposals.
